FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: I want to visit the church for the first time what's the dress code?
A: People at Arise & Shine wear everything from suits, jeans, dresses, skirts to T-shirts and shorts. Wear what makes you feel comfortable, come as you are!
Q: I have not yet been baptized, where can I get further information?
A: We conduct baptisms for new believers from time to time, do lookout for the announcements for when the next one will be or otherwise communicate your desire to get baptized to one of the ushers who will then talk to the relevant pastor.
Q: I want to become a member of Arise and Shine, how do I?
A: Request a membership form from the ushers fill it in and hand it back to them, it’s as simple as that. Thereafter you will have to attend the Foundations class which will then enable you to be more involved in the ministry.
Q: How do I make an appointment with the pastor or someone for counselling?
A: Talk to one of the ushers at the service and they will guide you to the relevant person or otherwise contact the number provided below and you will be scheduled for an appointment.
Q: I want to join a ministry or department, how do I go about it?
A: Make sure that you are a registered member of the Church and have gone through the Foundations classes. To register you can request a membership form from the information desk. In the foundations classes you will be introduced to the different ministries and departments and their leaders who you can contact should you want to be part of their ministry. (Please take not that some ministries do have certain requirements for joining so don’t feel offended, rather ask what is needed.)
Q: I have lost a loved one, who do I tell?
A: You can inform anyone on the Church leadership who will then let the Pastor know. The Church will assist with the funeral in case of the death of a member’s immediate family only.
Q: I want to get married, who do I talk to?
A: Fill out the appointment card and then you will be contacted with a date when you can meet with the pastor. It is very crucial that this appointment is made even before you think of marriage but when you enter into a relationship in order to receive some counselling and advice.
