Arise and Shine is more than just a church, it is the home of Stars who were born to shine in a world that is plagued with darkness. Our passion is to serve God through our gifts and all that He’s blessed us with, representing Christ in our walk.

Our church, Arise and Shine, is community-oriented. We’re more than just a place to worship on Sundays; we’re a family. We understand that everyone is unique and brings something different to the table.

Our Mission – To S.H.I.N.E

The scripture we have based our mission on is Luke 4:18-19 where Jesus first proclaimed what his mission in the world was, as well as Matthew 28:28 where He gave us the great commission. Therefore His mission is our mission. This mandate has been broken down in the following manner:

-Seek the lost and save them through preaching the Gospel
-Heal the sick and minister to those with needs,
-Impart the anointing, make disciples and raise up leaders
-Nurture our gifts, talents and resources using them to Worship God and advance His Kingdom
-Establish healthy families and plant new churches

OUR MANDATE

The Circle – Represents the Globe and International scope of the Arise and Shine mission. It is a church for all nations, different countries, languages, races as well as cultural backgrounds. The church also takes the word of God to different aspects of life, Business, Academics, Politics, Sports, the Arts and other industries.

It further represents the grace of God rising as the Sun signifying hope (as five biblically refers to the grace of God). It also represents the Five-fold ministry gifts as found in Ephesians 4:11, meant for the perfecting of the saints. Lastly, it emphasizes the fivefold Mission of Arise and Shine which is to S.H.I.N.E., hence the shinning star.

The Eagle Church – One of the prophetic words the Lord gave us early on in our ministry was that our church would be an Eagle church referring to our vision and the prophetic purpose that we carry. There are plenty things to share about this and we will do so in due course, until then keep shinning and flying high on wings like an Eagle.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God eternal, Almighty Creator, Sustainer and Ruler of all creation in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 4:4, 5; 1 Corinthians 8:6)

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God written by holy men of God as were moved by the Holy Spirit. We accept it as the final and supreme authority for our lives and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20)

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, that he was born of a virgin, conceived of the Holy Spirit and that he lived a life without sin. We believe that he died, rose again from the dead bodily, and ascended into heaven bodily (Luke 1:27,31; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:14; John 20:17)

We believe that man was created by God in his own image and that, due to his sin man incurred death both physically and spiritually. Because of this man inherited death at birth.

We believe that the only way man can be cleansed from sin repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7; Romans 5:9)

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ and the rapture of the Church. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Revelation 22:20)

We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues, empowering and equipping believers for service with the accompanying gifts of the Holy Spirit and in fellowship with Him.

We believe in the divine ordained ministry of an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.

We believe in one true church made of those redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that the local church on earth should take its character from this concept of the church. That the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essential for church membership.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances, namely baptism by immersion in water and the Holy communion to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witness to the cardinal facts of Christian faith that: Baptism is the immersion of a believer into the water as a confession of identity with Christ in burial and resurrection, and that the Holy communion is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Saviour’s broken body and the shed blood in remembrance of His sacrificial death until He comes.

We believe in the Day of Judgement where Christ will judge both the living and the dead, which will be preceded by the resurrection of the just and the unjust, to eternal blessedness for the just and to eternal banishment for the unjust.

We believe in sanctification as taught in the scripture as a condition of seeing God. For without holiness no man can see God.

We believe in divine healing as provided for in the Old Testament and is an integral part of the Gospel in the New Testament.
